*In 1960, Theodore H. Maiman constructed the first functioning LASER, at Hughes Research Laboratories, Malibu, California, ahead of several research teams, including those of Townes, at Columbia University, Arthur Schawlow, at Bell Labs, and Gould, at the TRG (Technical Research Group) company. Maiman’s functional LASER used a solid-state flashlamp-pumped synthetic ruby crystal to produce red laser light, at 694 nanometres wavelength.

The TSL-510 is a compact, high performance tunable laser with continuous, mode-hop free
wavelength sweeping up to 130nm. A variety of options are available to select high output
power, (>+10dBm) and/or high wavelength accuracy (<5pm accuracy), and/or high SNR (>65dB)
(high SNR not available with high power).
