August 1979 Established Kyodo Shoji Corporation. Main business is to import and develop fine ceramic materials for use in glass fiber, ceramic fiber and IC packages,etc..
October 1981 Established subsidiary company ,Samcom inc.,in Nagoya. (Samcom changed its name to OPELS in 1986)
December Kyodo Shoji Corporation changed its name to Samcom electronics Corporation.
The head office moved to Komaki City in Aichi.
June 1983 Samcom changed its name to Santec Corporation.
Changed its business from electronics to optical communication.
June 1984 Developed the world’s first optical-fiber mode-field-parameter test system-the FTS-2000 .
FTS-2000 was Santec’s first product in the optical communication business.

October 1985 Started to export products.
November To promote sales in the North America, Santec opened SANTEC U.S.A. CORPORATION in New Jersey, U.S.A.
December 1986 Developed multi-mode optical fiber test system. (FTX-2000) FTX-2000[1]
January 1987 Developed Frequency-stabilized LD light source and Narrow-spectrum LD light source.
October 1988 Developed Broadband tunable wavelength LD light source.
June 1989 Completed construction of Head Office in Kamisue Komaki, Aichi. kamisue[1]
February 1993 Developed Polarization-independent tunable-wavelength optical filter.
Entered into full-scale business in the field of optical communication.
November 1996 OPELS changed its name to Santec OMC Corporation.
February 1997 Developed OWL-10. This product is one of the essential compornents for WDM. OWL-10[1]
April Obtained ISO9001certification.
August 1998 Opened SANTEC Europe Ltd. in Oxford U.K.
January 1999 Established Santec Laser Corporation and Santec Photonics Laboratories Corporation.
April Established Santec OCC Corporation.
August Completed construction of our Photonics Laboratory in Komaki, Aichi. C[1]
March 2000 Launched ADM-10 (ADD/DROP Module) and IPD-10 (Integrated Photo Detector)
October Launched OVA-650 (Optical Variable Attenuater).
Nobember Launched MDM-15 (MUX/DEMUX Module) and OSW-20.
February 2001 Completed the construction of TowerD (Production facility)
March Santec OMC Corporation was merged with Santec Laser Corporation.
July Listed to Osaka Stock Exchange JASDAQ Market.


November Completed the construction of TowerE (Head office)
Opened Santec China in Shanghai.

December MOVA (Micro-electro Mechanical Optical Variable Attenuater) was given Incentive Award of Chunich-Industrial Award
April 2005 Launched Next Generation OCT Light Source, HSL-2000, UWS-1000G.
November Launched Swept Light Source TSL-510.
April 2006 Opened the office of System Solution Business in Tokyo.
August 2008 Started to supply HSL-200 for the world first Swept Source OCT System.
August 2009 Introduced the LCOS (Liquid Crystal On Silicon) production equipment.
