August 1979   Established Kyodo Shoji Corporation. Main business is to import and develop fine ceramic materials for use in glass fiber, ceramic fiber and IC packages,etc..

  Established subsidiary company ,Samcom inc.,in Nagoya.( Samcom changed its name to OPELS in 1986)    
 
December
   
  Kyodo Shoji Corporation changed its name to Samcom electronics Corporation.
The head office moved to Komaki City in Aichi.

  Samcom changed its name to Santec Corporation.
Changed its business from electronics to optical communication.

  Developed the world’s first optical-fiber mode-field-parameter test system-the FTS-2000 .
FTS-2000 was Santec’s first product in the optical communication business.
