Tunable Laser TSL-510
High Performance Tunable Laser
Santec built the world’s first commercially available narrow linewidth tunable laser in 1987. Growing from that innovative start, we have developed a range of laser solutions for a wide variety of applications across many technical fields. Whatever your application, Santec can offer a tunable laser that will not only integrate seamlessly with your system, but will also increase your measurement capability and accuracy.
Four models
The model range has four versions:
Type A : Standard model with +10dBm or more peak output power
Type B : Low noise model with high SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) of 65dB or more
Type C : High wavelength accuracy model of ±5pm or less with built-in wavelength monitor
Type D : Low noise (High SNR) and high wavelength accuracy model
Features
- 120 nm tuning range within 1260-1680nm
- 100nm/s sweep speed
- Mode-hop-free wavelength sweeps
- <1 pm wavelength resolution (Fine tuning)
- GPIB and USB interfaces with the industry standard SCPI command
Wavelength ranges
- 1260-1360nm
- 1340-1440nm
- 1420-1520nm
- 1510-1630nm
- 1560-1680nm

Typical Output Characteristics
- Type A (Standard model) / Type C (High wavelength accuracy model)
>+10dBm (Peak Power)
>+8dBm (Full tuning range) - Type B (High SNR model) / Type D (High wavelength accuracy & High SNR model)
>0dBm (Peak Power)
>-4dBm (Full tuning range)
High SNR model (Type B / Type D)
- >65 dB SNR (Type B / Type D)
- >35 dB SNR (Type A / Type C)
The optical design of this type focuses to gain better signal to noise ratio. It achieves over 65dB STSSE and over 70dB SSSE. It is essential for measuring large dynamic range of wavelength profile without affected by noise of the light source.
