Santec, a leading manufacturer of tunable lasers and test instruments for the fiber optics industry, is pleased to announce the first product in its new range of tunable lasers, the TSL-510. The TSL-510 adopts many of the key features of Santec's existing TSL-210V external cavity tunable laser but with a number of improved features and specifications.
The TSL-510 is a compact, easy to use, bench-top type instrument. It has a full 120nm mode-hop-free tuning range selectable within the 1260 - 1680nm wavelength region. Optical output power is typically 10mW. The laser has a 100nm/s rapid wavelength sweep function which is particularly suitable for fiber optic component testing and material characterization.
The instrument has a numeric keypad with a LCD display for ease of control. In addition, the unit has USB and GPIB interfaces. A LabView driver is supplied as standard. Santec's tunable lasers are used in universities, research labs and production environments for a wide range of applications. The TSL-510 is similarly flexible and suitable for applications including telecom, gas sensing, spectroscopy and material characterization.
