July 24, 2001 Santec Corporation is pleased to announce that from 24 July, 2001 its shares will be listed on the Nasdaq Japan section of the Osaka Stock Exchange. Santec was established in August 1979 and is well known for its achievements in the fiber optics field. It developed the world's first optical fiber test system in 1984 and the first commercial tunable laser in 1987. It is a leading supplier of fiber optic components for DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) applications. Santec is motivated by its vision of Optopia, a society supported by optical technology, and hopes that its work to develop unique, leading edge technologies will contribute positively to a better society.
