・ SANTEC, a leading design and manufacturer of tunable lasers, optical instruments, OCT products, and fiber-optic components, has introduced three new second generation spatial light modulators (SLMs) (product code: SLM-200, SLM-250 and SLM-20) with enhanced Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCOS) panel resolution compared to first generation SLMs (SLM-100 and SLM-150).
・ In addition to supporting WUXGA (1920×1200) and Full-HD (1920×1080) video resolutions, the 2nd gen. SLMs from Santec will still offer 4 times better 10-bit (1024 gray level) and 10 times better phase stability (when compared with conventional products in the market) that was found in the 1st gen. SLMs.
・ The Ultra-Violet (UV) model SLM (SLM-250) has a 42 times higher UV resistance specification when compared to the visible to Infra-Red (IR) wavelength SLM-200.
・ The SLM-20 is an OEM-focused 2nd Gen device, featuring two LCOS driver models; one for basic driving and a “Multi-functional model” (including video memories) are available.
・ The newly designed LCOS head mount has been deployed for excellent panel accuracy (as high as π/10) to minimize mechanical mounting stress in the LCOS panel.
・ The 2nd Gen. SLMs will contribute to various industrial and scientific applications, including beam shaping, computer-generated holograms, optical manipulation, and wave-front compensation.
・ The SLM-200, SLM-250 and SLM-20 will be showcased at the CLEO 2018 in San Jose, May 15 to 17, 2018, at SANTEC booth #2235.
