Santec’s proprietary MEMS (Micro-Electro Mechanical System)) technology inside the TOVA-1 enables the user to deploy in wavelength sensitive signal attenuation schemes. The TOVA-1 is an enabling technology for advanced signal transmission and optical transport in next generation optical networks.

Implementation of Santec’s proven MEMS technology means the TOVA-1 is an ideal colorless feature for signal or gain control devices for many applications that require precise control of signal levels. The stiction-free actuator structure assures excellent long term reliability.

The TOVA-1 has utilized latest MEMS technology based on a thermal actuation, in which heat induced by input voltage drives the MEMS actuator. Robust and highly reliable performance have been achieved with the low wavelength dependency in optical loss and polarization.

Two models of bright and dark are ready for various optical network applications. Low DC voltage of 0 ~ 5V is available at a low power consumption.
